 If your relationship with food has never been perfect, that’s ok. Neither has mine. Embracing the imperfections is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Healthy eating is not about dieting or restricting foods. It’s about finding the right mechanics and foods that work for you. The Healthy Garage (THG) is about nourishment. The recipes and nutritional mechanics you’ll find here revolve around healthy eating habits, nourishing and simple techniques to help you practice them in the kitchen. Allow me to be your Nutritional “Mechanic” and show you simple ways to nourish your engine.
Cooking in the kitchen with my late Oma (Grandmother) at a young age, taught me many things about food, values and life. My Oma’s philosophy of life was to live, love and laugh- way before it became trendy on pinterest. I have taken her philosophy and added it to all the parts (and labour) here at THG. It’s not about the latest superfood. It’s not about dieting or restrictions. The only “one size fits all” approach that you need to follow is nourishment.
Moving into the “garage”- 200 sq feet and all-, I began focusing on the mechanics of culinary and nutritional practices for better health. Through THG, I provide nutritional services and develop recipes that focus on how food is our fuel and can truly alter all aspects of life. Life can get complex; eating well doesn’t have to be.
